Biography

Lisa Sanchez is a doctoral student in the department of political science and a native New Mexican. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with her bachelors degree in political science and her M.A. in American Politics and Public Policy. She is an APSA Minority Fellow and graduate intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Technology Transfer. When not studying politics, she is a professional vocal performer.

Research Interests

Congressional representation with particular regard to how minority influences affect health and immigration policy outputs.

Recent Accomplishments

Lisa Sanchez recently received the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Doctorial Fellowship at the University of New Mexico. Through this fellowship, she plans to study the link between immigration policies and minority health outcomes in the United States
