Student Learning Objectives

The following are the Department's approved Student Learning Objectives for its Graduate Program:

  1. The students will demonstrate sufficient general knowledge in the area to teach a basic course
  2. The students will demonstrate a thorough grasp of the literature and experts in their subfield
  3. The students will demonstrate a thorough grasp of the major theories in their subfield
  4. The students will demonstrate an ability to think critically in methodological terms
