Biography:

Elliott Schwebach is a lecturer in the Political Science department at UNM and teaches courses related to law, politics and society. Elliott received his PhD in political theory from Johns Hopkins University where he completed a dissertation on the political psychology of property (with an emphasis on the work and legacy of Frantz Fanon), soon to be published in revised form with Routledge. Currently, Elliott is working on a number of other research projects, including a collaborative article on Asian American mental health in higher education and a critical legal theory article on street writing (graffiti vandalism) within US criminal justice, and he remains active in continuing to learn and grow as a teacher. Elliott regularly attends conferences in Curriculum Theory and has worked collaboratively in secondary and higher educational settings to explore effective approaches toward identity and psychology in difficult classroom discussions.
