Student Learning Objectives

The following are the Department's approved Student Learning Objectives for its Graduate Program:

The students will demonstrate sufficient general knowledge in the area to teach a basic course
The students will demonstrate a thorough grasp of the literature and experts in their subfield
The students will demonstrate a thorough grasp of the major theories in their subfield
The students will demonstrate an ability to think critically in methodological terms
The students will demonstrate an ability to think critically with respect to theory
The students will demonstrate a firm understanding of research design and methods
