Title: Politicization of Memoryand History in the Former Yugoslavia

Abstract: This talk examines the politicization of history in the successor states of Yugoslavia, focused primarily on Serbia. It examines how historical narratives are instrumentalized for political purposes in postwar and post-communist societies.The talk is timely since the manipulation of history for political goals has become a pressing concern worldwide, challenging even well-established democracies.
