Karla is a Master’s student in the Department of Political Science, with concentrations in American Politics and Methodology. Her research interests are in ideology and discursive theory, studying how political theory and pedagogy affect processes of polarization and ideology formation. Karla holds a BA in Politics & Government and Economics from Pacific Lutheran University. Her undergraduate capstone thesis investigated the link of anti-ideological thinking between 20th-century neoliberalism and Trump-era Republican ideology.
