Leilani DeLude is a Kanaka Maoli scholar from Wai’anae, Oʻahu. She is a first-year Ph.D. student in political science at the University of New Mexico. Leilani’s research interests include Indigenous political behavior, land, and social movements on Hawaiian sovereignty; Indigenous data sovereignty; settler colonialism; Indigenous feminist theories; and decolonization. Leilani is involved with community-based participatory research and understanding how Indigenous relations to land, sovereignty, and Indigenous identity play a role in political behavior.
