Maggie Toulouse Oliver

Biography:

Maggie Toulouse Oliver has returned to the Ph.D program in Political Science after a 15 year absence in order to work in election administration in New Mexico.  Toulouse Oliver served as Bernalillo County Clerk for 10 years and currently serves as New Mexico Secretary of State - overseeing federal, state and local elections, campaign finance enforcement, and governmental ethics regulations.  Maggie's research interests are in American Politics and Public Policy, especially voting behavior and the relationship between election policy and voter participation.
Maggie was raised in Albuquerque and attended Albuquerque Public Schools.  She graduated with her B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from the University of New Mexico in 2001, and her M.A. in Political Science in 2005.  She is the proud mother of two sons.
